Expansion of energy management and energy policy activities in the US KEMA strengthens American position by acquisition of RLW Analytics
December 10 – With effect from January 1, 2009, KEMA is taking over the US energy consulting firm RLW Analytics (RLW, www.rlw.com). RLW specializes in the provision of advice on energy management and energy policy. The firm has a strong reputation for statistical, technical and market research, and for power grid load studies. From its five offices, RLW’s fifty-strong workforce supports more than fifty US energy companies and government organizations.

December 1 – KEMA today released a report highlighting the benefits of energy storage technologies for system regulation in Independent System Operator (ISO) markets. The report “Benefits of Fast-Response Storage Devices for System Regulation in ISO Markets” was prepared for the AES Corporation, a global energy company, to further the understanding of using storage for frequency regulation to improve electric grid system reliability, efficiency and flexibility.

November 18 – KEMA’s sustainable buildings and operations practice was one of 18 recipients of the East Bay Business Times 2008 Green and Sustainable Business Award. The award honors companies that have invented technologies that further the green movement or have distinguished themselves by implementing high-impact sustainable practices in their business operations. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Claremont Resort in Berkeley, California on October 16.
